Targeted: AA Double Miles + Fast Track Elite Status

A FFU reader sent me this tip today, so I thought I’d share.

It looks like American Airlines has sent a targeted promotion to some people with an offer for Double Miles and fast track Elite Status.

Fly 10,000 miles for Platinum Status and 25,000 for Executive Platinum status.

The email clearly says that it is targeted but I tried using the code and I got a confirmation that I was registered so we will see.

Bottom Line:

Since it is free to sign up and the offer seems to be working at the moment, there is no harm in at least signing up. If this offer is in fact valid, it is a fairly lucrative offer because to normally earn this status it would take almost 50,000 or 100,000 depending on the level. Just for the benefits that come with this status, it would almost make sense to do a mileage run to take advantage of this promotion.
