Introducing the FAA (Frequently Accessed Articles) Archive

So for the past few months, I have been working extremely hard on quite a large project for FFU called the Frequently Accessed Articles Archive or FAA Archive for short.

Essentially the FAA Archive is “Library of Congress” for all the most important Frequent Flyer posts from all the different Blogs and Forums.

Ever since I had my original blog in 2009, whenever I come across any interesting articles about Frequent Flying, I have simply bookmarked them on my Computer.

Flash forward to 2012, and my little list has grown into quite a behemoth and had become quite unorganized.

While attempting to organize my ever growing list of bookmarks, I realized that this same problem plagues Flyertalk and Milepoint.

Although I love both, it can be such a pain in the butt trying to find stuff on there because the threads can be 90+ pages.

Similarly with Blog posts, when I am trying to book an Award, I will remember some tidbit of a tip but then can never remember what Blog it was originally from.

Thus the FAA Archive makes a feeble attempt to solve that problem by pulling out the really important information from Flyertalk, Milepoint, and all the Travel Blogs and attempts to put it into an easy to navigate format.

How To Use The FAA

This version of the FAA is round 1, so it is still fairly basic, but I have divided up the information into 3 categories.

  • Frequent Flyer Programs
  • Hotel Loyalty Program
  • Credit Card Programs

The link to the FAA Archive can be found at the top right of the page or you can just click here.

Within these 3 Categories I have tried to add in every major Airline, Hotel, & Credit Card Issuer.

So basically, depending on what you are looking for, you would click on 1 of the above categories and then go from there.

For Example

Say you got in on the British Airways 100,000 Avios offer and wanted some ideas on how to redeem your Avios.

You would simply click on Frequent Flyer Programs, then British Airways, and then Award Booking.

Under Award Booking, you would find posts on how to:

Hopefully everything you need to know about redeeming Avios, you should be able to find it there.

While that was just for British Airways, I have literally dug through every Travel Blog and pulled out all the important posts.

Here is a randomly sampling of things I pulled out:

The Purpose Of This

It took me probably about 3 months to scour every Travel Blog and look through every single one of their posts to find all this information.

The purpose of this was basically to make sure no one else has to do this again.

Next time you need to know how to redeem AMEX Membership Rewards Points for Singapore First Class, you won’t have to try and remember what Blog you read it on (although 99% chance that it was on One Mile At A Time) or even need to search Google for it.

The FAA Archive is designed to be a free community resource and could not be made possible without all the amazing posts that all the Travel Bloggers have done.

That being said, I know there are posts that I forgot to include because they got overlooked, so if you have any posts that you have bookmarked on your computer or feel strongly that other people would benefit from reading , please feel free to share them and I will add them to the FAA Archive.

Anyways, feel free to look around the FAA Archive and let me know if you have any suggestions or comments.
