News You Can Use: Free Hotel Status, Radisson BOGO, US Airways Miles Purchase For 1.1 Cents

When I woke up this morning, I was surprised to see so many awesome offers.

Instead of writing about all of them, I’ll just point you in the right direction.

1. Free Hertz Gold Status

The Points Guy points out that you can now get Hertz Gold Status for free. Although Car Rentals aren’t something that most people do every vacation, since the Status is free, I’d recommend getting it because you never know when you are going to need it!

2. Free Accor Platinum Status

View From The Wing points out that for what seems like the 100th time, Accor is offering free Platinum Status once again. While you may not ever stay at an Accor property, this Platinum Status is extremely useful for doing a Status Match. I used this free Accor Platinum Status to get a Status Match to Radisson.

3. 250 StarPoints For “Checking In” Via Foursquare

Mommy Points points out that via Starwood 3rd Quarter promotion, you can earn 250 Starwood Points for “Checking In” via Foursquare. While technically you are supposed to have a reservation, it is unclear if they actually check or require a reservation to get the points. I am going to “Check In” and see what happens.

4. Buy US Airways Miles For 1.1 Cents

Mile Value points out that you can “purchase” US Airways miles for a mere 1.1 Cents by transferring the Miles between 2 accounts. While it will still cost you around $1,000 for 100,000, you can redeem those 100,000 Miles for a Business Class ticket to Europe or Asia. If you were planning on purchasing an Economy ticket that was around $800-$1000 (India, Asia, Australia, etc.), I think it would be better to take advantage of this promotion and for the same price of an Economy Ticket, you could fly Business.

5. 2,000 Free Aegean Miles

View From The Wing points out that by signing up for Aegean’s Frequent Flyer Program, you can get 2,000 free Miles. The reason why this is important is because Aegean is a Star Alliance Partner and to earn Silver Status with them, you only need to fly 4,000 Miles. With this free 2,000 Miles, you are 1/2 way there to earning Free Silver Status.

6. Radisson Stay 1 Night, Get 1 Night

The Points Guy points out that Radisson has an awesome promotion going on right now, in which if you stay 1 night with Radisson, you will get a free night certificate which can be used at any Radisson or Radisson Blu. This promotion is even better than the 50,000 Big Night Giveaway. Basically if you can find a cheap Radisson near you and pay the $80 – $100, you will get a certificate that you can use at any expensive Radisson Blu Hotel. I used my 50,000 Radisson Points in Cannes and Nice and it was well worth it. I will definitely be taking advantage of this promotion.
