AMEX Small Business Saturday – $25 Credit – Nov. 24

AMEX Small Business Saturday

For those of you that have not heard, American Express Small Business Saturday is returning this November 24, 2012.

For those of you not familiar with this promotion, for the past 2 years, American Express and Fed Ex have sponsored Small Business Saturday, which gives AMEX Cardholders a $25 Statement Credit for making a purchase at a local Small Business.

Invalid request error occurred.

I have done this promotion for the past 2 years and it is awesome!

The best part is that almost any Credit Card branded with an AMEX works. Unfortunately it has to be a Credit Card, and not Bluebird or a Debit Card.

I personally have a Macys AMEX, Starwood AMEX, and AMEX Platinum, so in total I should get $75 in Statement Credits.

This is pretty awesome because the Macys AMEX doesn’t have an Annual Fee, and the Annual Fee on the Starwood AMEX is waived for the first year. So basically this $75 in Statement Credits will “technically” be going towards the $450 AMEX Platinum Annual Fee.

How To Register

Anyways to get your $25 Statement Credit, on November 18th, starting at 1AM Central Time, you simply have to register your AMEX Cards. The registration link is not open yet, but you should hopefully see it here.

I’d recommend getting up early and doing this on November 18 because there is a cap on how many people can partake.

Once you are registered, on November 24, simply use your AMEX at any “Small Business” on the Shop Small Map and within a few days you will see a Statement Credit.

Recap

So all in all, this promotion is probably my favorite of the year. As I pointed out above, of my 3 AMEX Cards, only 1 has a current Annual Fee. So basically by using my other AMEX Cards and getting the $25 Statement Credit, I’ll be getting $75 for free that will help negate some of the $450 AMEX Platinum Card Annual Fee.

If you are reading this thinking, “Oh I wish I had an AMEX”, THERE IS STILL TIME! It is currently only November 7th, so you have 11 days to get an AMEX Card.

I leave for LA on Friday, and I applied for my AMEX Platinum Card this Monday. Without me even asking, AMEX said they are going to expedite the Card and it arrived via UPS Overnight this morning (Wednesday)! They can do the same with any other AMEX Card!

If you don’t have an AMEX Card, the 4 AMEX Cards I’d recommend are below. 3 out of the 4 Cardshave the Annual Fee waived for the 1st year, so with the Small Business Saturday, you are coming out ahead by $25 plus any Miles or Points you earn!

  • SPG AMEX – No Annual Fee for 1st year & 25,000 Starpoints after $5,000 Minimum Spend.
  • Gold Delta SkyMiles – No Annual Fee for 1st year & 30,000 SkyMiles after $500 Minimum Spend.
  • AMEX Platinum – $450 Annual Fee & $400-$600 in Airline Gift Cards, 25,000 – 50,000 Membership Rewards Points, Free Starwood Gold Status, and Lounge Access.

Anyways hope everyone takes advantage of this promotion!
