Free Hyatt Platinum Status For 90 Days

April 3, 2012 By Parag Leave a Comment

Lucky from One Mile At A Time points out that if you have a Visa Signature Card, you can get a free 90 day trial of Hyatt Platinum status .

Typically Visa Signature Cards explicitly say on them that they are a Visa Signature branded card, however if you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, this is also a Visa Signature card!

Benefits Of Platinum Status at Hyatt

Typically to achieve Platinum status at Hyatt you need to stay 5 times or 15 nights, therefore it is technically their lowest level after Gold (which is what everyone starts at).

With Platinum status you get:

  • Achieve rewards faster with a 15% point bonus when choosing points for your stay
  • Enjoy a preferred room including rooms on higher floors or larger rooms, based on availability upon arrival
  • Receive the confirmed bed type at check-in
  • Stay connected with complimentary in-room Internet access
  • Expedite check-in at a dedicated area for elite members
  • Ensure a room is always available with our 72-hour guarantee
  • Extend your stay until 2:00 p.m. with a late check out request
  • Book reservations through an exclusive Platinum line

Even if you aren’t planning on staying at a Hyatt within the next 3 months, it is always advisable to sign up for these types of free status offers because:

  • Your plans could change and the registration for this offer might close before you can sign up.
  • Sometimes companies mess up and instead of a 90 day trial, they may accidentally give you a year trial. You never know!

Trend

I have no idea why all these free status offers seem to be appearing out of no where, but I am certainly not complaining!

In the span of the last 3 months, I have gotten free Platinum status at Accor, Gold at Hilton, and now Platinum at Hyatt.

Throw either free SPG or Marriott status in there and I will have a full house!

Free Hilton HHonors Gold Status…..Again

March 30, 2012 By Parag 4 Comments

Amazon sent me two credits that I don’t need so first come, first serve. Just leave a comment if you use it!

  • $2 Credit Towards Instant Video – AFKN-3774R8-5RABCP
  • $2 MP3 credit – GRD5-A3LVL7-8A7LQA

Update: According to Chitown Cheapskate, if you use HITUMBLR, everyone can get $2 in free Amazon MP3 credit!

Free Hilton HHonors Gold Status

Gary from View From The Wing points out for the 3rd time in many months, that the free Hilton HHonors Gold Status is STILL up and running. It is almost like Hilton wants you to have free status…

Link To Post

While normally it would take 16 stays or 36 nights to achieve this status, you can get it for FREE!

Typically Gold status at hotels is pretty lame, however Hilton HHonors Gold looks pretty promising according to their website.

  • 25% Earning Bonus
  • Free Breakfast
  • Upgrades Depending On Availability
  • Free Internet

There does seem to be a strong correlation between how expensive the hotel and how much they nickel and dime you, so you might as well get this status since it is free. At a minimum you will get free breakfast and internet!

Also I’ve pointed this out many times before but these types of free hotel statuses are great for when you want to do a status match to a real hotel that you actually want status at.

If you are interested in learning about Status Matches, check out my old post here.

I’ve used this exact status match strategy a couple times in the past and it has worked every time.

First I used my free SPG Gold status in 2010 to get a status match to Marriott Platinum for a 2 week stay in Sydney, and then used my free Virgin Atlantic Silver to get a status match to United Premier for the flight to Sydney.

The 2 status matches got us free room upgrades, access to the hotel’s club lounge (aka free alcohol, food, & internet), free checked bags, as well as getting us both bumped to Economy Plus on both legs which was a lifesaver for the 15 hour flight!

Free Accor A Club Platinum Status

February 27, 2012 By Parag Leave a Comment

View From The Wing pointed out today that Accor Hotels A Club Platinum Status is back. The offer is “targeted” but there doesn’t seem to be anything stopping non-targeted people from signing up. By signing up for this offer, you will get Accor Platinum Status for free!

Link

As I had pointed out last time this offer was available, even if you don’t ever plan on staying at Accor Hotels in the future, these types of free offers are great for doing status matches to programs that you do stay at like Marriott & Starwood!
