Free TripIt Pro With Barclays Arrival Card

Free TripIt Pro With Barclays Arrival Card

I was just paying my Barclays Arrival Plus bill and noticed that they offer a free upgrade to TripIt Pro ($50 value) to cardholders.

A full list of TripIt Pro features can be found here but certainly the Hertz #1 Club Gold status stands out.

"TripIt Pro"

“TripIt Pro”

If you aren’t familiar with TripIt, basically once you sign up for their free service, you can forward all your travel confirmation emails (flights, hotels, cars, etc) to TripIt and they will automatically  compile them into one centralized itinerary. Typically email confirmations from United, Expedia, Hyatt, etc all get lost in my email inbox, so whenever something comes in, I always automatically forward it to TripIt so I don’t lose it.

While the centralized itinerary feature is great, the reason I really love TripIt is that it also tracks how many miles, countries, and cities I have been to. My below TripIt stats date back to 2010.

"My 2014 so far"

“My 2014 so far”

Just for this feature alone, I’d suggest signing up for TripIt.

Recap

While I am not sure if I’d ever pay for TripIt Pro out of pocket, since I use the free version of TripIt fairly often, I certainly will take advantage of this free upgrade offer and see how much extra value TripIt Pro offers.

Niiiiice. Did not know the card came with this benefit. Thanks Parag!

  • Ben says:

I wouldn’t call this a ‘new release’ or ‘now offering’ as it’s been a feature of the card (with the annual fee) since it’s inception: http://goo.gl/w1jVyG

I never said it was new. I just merely came across it and thought that readers may have missed it like I did, so I thought I would share.

What Ben said, but if the blog told the truth, they wouldn’t have a way to push readers through their referral link to make money off of sheep.

This is far from anything new. Way to know the products you’re pushing the lemmings into.

      1. There are no credit card affiliate links on any of my posts (can’t speak / have no control over any banners Boarding Area puts on my sidebar).

      2. I didn’t say anyone should get this card just for this benefit. There isn’t even a link to get the card in the post.

Try reading the full post next time : )

Sucks this isn’t on other Barclay’s cards like USAIR.

I used Tripit Free before getting this card and using Pro. I see no big difference between the two products. Tripit Free is good enough for most. I doubt many are paying for Tripit Pro. According to their website Pro gives real time flight alerts and lets you track points. Your airline apps give you those alerts. And I think I have seen those alerts on Trip Free version as well.
